I went out this morning to install and found a slight problem with the instructions for installing the upper dashboard section (adjacent to the screen). I give this mod a thumbs up.Just received my mirror deflectors and fairing side deflector kits. Rolling the windows up makes even more difference. Result: The wind is noticably reduced, especially in the center of the cockpit. Once the covers are snapped into place, you won't get them off without breaking them. The trickiest part is setting up the new front and back covers into the closing ring (gasket) so that it doesn't misalign or otherwisde get tangled under the new covers. If not, you can skip a significantly time consuming portion of the installation. So before removing the black ribbed cover support pieces which sit underneath the roll bar covers, check to make sure that it even includes the ribs that need to be removed. As such, steps 2B and 2C (removal of top and bottom sections and removal of specified ribs). My 2005 Z4 roll bar cover supports were missing the ribs for which this retrofit specifies removal. The holes for the deflector holders (tracks) have been predrilled on these covers. Having read that the original roll bar covers cannot be removed without damage, I purcahsed a new set which have been made ready for this retrofit. I installed the wind deflector retrofit (54.347.117.745) today and the process took exactly 1 hour. Roll Bar trim support pieces have been modified.
